I said goodbye to this sad replica of a once great place to stay.Welcome to Courtyard Dallas Addison/Midway Move forward in Addison, TXĮnjoy space to relax, recharge and reset at Courtyard Dallas Addison/Midway in Addison, TX. The $10 parking fee really bothers me as their parking lot is mostly vacant at any hour/any day. Nothing from management was visible to stop it for the well being of other guests. So well after 11 PM, we heard loud Harleys, music, and screaming from the parking lot below us. Really-Covid is no longer an excuse for this! During our stay, there apparently was a motorcycle rally at another nearby Marriott and some of the overflow was at this hotel. You can no longer make your own breakfast here. Certainly not my definition of HOT breakfast. My wife had to stand in the bedroom and blow dry her hair. There were no toiletries to use at the sink-for basic hand washing! The HOT breakfast is a joke-3-4 warming shelves with sugar-laden waffles (with baked in syrup), not any fruit, Tang looking liquid for orange juice and not any toast, bagels, or other normal breakfast staples. Our room had burned out light bulbs, missing smoke detector (violation), and an unusable plug in the vanity area. This last visit, changed my mind about ever coming back. It has always been a great and welcoming experience. I've stayed at this hotel the last 3 years. We enjoyed the size of the room, the large size TV and modern features but heat would have been nice with unseasonably cold weather. Even though reported again the next day, no one came to address the issue or offer any options. That saved the day but was our only source of warmth throughout our stay. After about an hour, I called the desk and a very nice maintenance staff member brought me an electric heater. The heat would not work and only blew cold air. In our room, we found it nice and clean but very cold. Not the hotels issue, but the continued for two days. Once we finally made it to our room, the smell of **** was very strong in the hallway. It was the first of several times that it appeared they did not have enough staff. The phone rang several times and the calls were put on hold. He mentioned they had trouble with them but the wait was very long. I then stood for over 20 minutes while Eddie tried to get a guests credit card to work. I stood there for several minutes until the employee walked over to trip the auto door. First the outside doors are locked and I have never encountered this at a hotel. It took over thirty minutes to get checked in and to our room. After a several hours flight, we arrived about 1030pm. Maybe my expectations were too high but several issues arose during our trip. I chose the hotel based on location and previous good reviews. We stayed three nights April 16-19 on our first trip to Dallas.
